This particular shoe called ‘‘Sniper’’ focuses on support and structure, looking back at what was worn back in the Korean military, you start to get an understanding for the various types of structured boots/ accessories etc.. I wanted to take that as a base for this design.
The shoe shape is taken from old school military shapes, narrow shafts and closed fitting fronts/vamps. The heavy strap structure takes into account the need for military boots to hug the foot well for maximum mobility and support. I gave the shoe a combination of straps,. Finished off with classic military hardware like lace hooks. The leathers have a worn in look and feel. Look carefully and you can see beautiful surface texture detail.
At the top of the shaft there are 3 straps with hidden double gore entry points for a customized fit. ‘’Sniper’’ is lined with sheepskin (which is also exposed) on the shaft for comfort and leather at the vamp for fit. The 3 remaining s Velcro straps at the front finish off this structured style.
The sole is more modern, vulcanized rubber with a Sharpe red strip highlighted for style. Red eyelets were also added to truly make the design pop.
The color scheme looks at the Korean army, the mixture of Greens blacks with Popping Reds.
This design is a modernism take of ‘’The Art of War’’.

loVE DraWing things by hand, it’s such a great base understanding. These drawings follow the mood board posted earlier.
The main influence looks at 1920’s geometric patterns, they were bold and innovative. I created a unique laser etched pattern using this ideology. A pattern that draws your eye in thus giving a good forcal point. The color palette incorporates warm and subtle colors to give a unique color clash. By combining traditional silhouettes, with luxurious materials creates a line that is refined, chic with a hint of personality.
